Does anyone know what brand of trumpet Herb Alpert played during the groups heyday?

Benge, made in Chicago, or as trumpet aficionados would say "Chicago Benge."

The best information indicates that it was made about 1951 in Chicago by Elden Benge, before Benge moved production of his line of custom made, professional trumpets to the West Coast.

If you want a replica of the Chicago Benge today - as the Chicago Benge is no longer in production - you should get a Kanstul Chicago.
