In the 3000/CTI series this title actually didn't get released, but when CTI became an independent label the album came out as CRYING SONG, Hubert Laws' first. It was reissued by CBS on CD (ZK 40925) but is now out of print.
One indicator of the transition was that part of the album was recorded at Van Gelders' (tracks 3, 7 and
with the remainder at Memphis' American Sound Studios, with Tom Cogbill as engineer.
