Mr. Richard Carpenter

I would like to get Richard to sign something for me but I’m much to scared that it will get lost in transit.
One of the questions i asked was if he could suggest a good set but affordable pair of headphones. Figured he’d be a good person to ask………. no recommendation. I don’t even think he even signs the stuff he sends back. I think they’re pre-signed and his assistant just fills in your name. Just my opinion though.

I’m going to try sending a letter to the Encino address soon. I don’t really care about asking Richard a bunch of questions, I just want to be able to express my deep appreciation for his contributions to music, and let him know how much I admire him in general.

However - is what I’m gathering, based on others’ responses, that most of the time, letters are just read/replied to by Richard’s secretary, rather than him personally? To me that defeats the purpose of writing, but if I can still get that signed photo I’ve always wanted… :)

You'd be better off asking your local specialist record store. Richard does sign these items, a forum member shared with me yesterday some items he sent Richard that he's just had returned with his signature and a personalised message.

That’s what I thought. I didn’t expect to get the cd covers back for some reason but was very happy when they did come yesterday

I've never mailed anything to somebody to get autographed like this. I'm guessing you include a self-addressed stamped envelope too, yeah?

Yes I did. Took a few months to get back to me as I live in U.K. but worth the wait to get the autographs

Glad you got the autographs! How/where did get the US stamps in the UK and how did you know the correct postage? Thanks in advance!
I went to my local post office and they put the relevant stamps on. I had to include an SAE in with the letter which they put an American and English stamp on.
