Quite a lot of Carpenters recordings, such as Now And Then and Horizon have used the Steel Guitar or Pedal-Steel...

The players have often been Jay Dee (J.D.) Maness (who also appeared on Herb Alpert's Rise album) and the late-Orville "Red" Rhodes...

One song where it is very noticable is Now And Then's "End Of The World", on the "Oldies Medley"...

What other Carpenters Songs have featured this instrument?

...wondering if Tony Peluso ever played with one...

The pedal steel on "Top" was played by Buddy Emmons. -Chris

Buddy...yes, I Remember Buddy!!! Denny Doherty, a former member of The Mamas & The Papas also had Emmons appear on his album, too...
