UK SOUND & VISION CD /DVD SET

Managed to obtain this pre-Christmas release from HMV @ cost of £20 ($32) ....saving of £10 (($16) from RRP

Set comprises :

2000 UK Gold Compilation (20 tracks)

1978 Christmas Portrait Album (17 tracks)

2002 Gold (Previously Yesterday Once More / Only Yesterday Video Release) DVD.

There are no extras and even the credits are very basic ...John Tobler's original liner notes are omitted and no lyrics / extra photos -art work included ....disappointing effort all round ....ideal would have been to use Richard's liner notes from previous box sets etc and more photos / lyrics as a special release ....clearly Universal just cobbled this together as fast as possible

Will probably keep for myself and possibly purchase another for family member as a CD / DVD intro to Carpenters ?

Incidentially Christmas Portrait is remix version -not the original mixes ....but good to see the full set out rather than usual Special Edition version

Now will Universal ever get around to release of both Christmas Albums INDIVIDUALLY outside of Japan and actually promote two classic Carpenters releases

Managed to play the entire Sound & Vision package ....great to hear Christmas Portrait again

Under each CD / DVD disc is colour portrait of Carpenters -one from Horizon , one from From The Top / Essential box set and Rolling Stone cover shot -all look great

Shame more photos / liner notes were not included ....wonder how extensive the Argentina deluxe version liner notes are ....anyone going to obtain
