Reminds me of Canadian group The Headpins (who hat a minor hit in late 1983 with the song "Just One More Time") played on both MTV & NBC's "Friday Night Videos". Matt Clark Sanford, MI

'Play the Game' and 'Have You Been Telling Me Lies' were moderate hits in Australia. 'Magic Bullet' also got quite a bit of airplay. The group's film clips appeared often on weekly national music show, Countdown. Wendy and the Rockets had slight echoes of good old Aussie pub rock, but with a very 'produced', commercial and softened-down flavour. Wendy Stapleton was a good singer and performer, but somehow, her look didn't tie in with that of the band members. As you saw them on the videos, they weren't believable as a unit. They were a bit hard to embrace image-wise, I thought. You always got the sense of a young band supporting a solo singer. But they did have some good songs and sounds.
