Richard's comments are being taken slightly out-of-context: He stated that out of the two 1982 tracks on VOTH,only "Now" would have made a follow-up to MIA.Aware as we are that Richard Carpenter has changed his opinion regarding songs on Voice of The Heart
--that is, he would only have considered Now as a true follow-up to Made In America, had their reccording
career commenced.
I would be interested to know if his opinion ---for the songs on Lovelines--- has changed throughout the
intervening years.
Out of those three albums, Lovelines is the superior offering (IMHO).
Richard's comments about his "change of opinion" doesn't really mean anything-as he's contemplating how the situation would've materialized if Karen had lived. The fact is-Richard considers many of the posthumous recordings as some of their finest work, including the Christmas recordings. But,he concedes that if Karen had lived, they would've focused on recording new albums.
