Salvation Records was a subsidiary of CTI Records. Originally created to release gospel and inspirational albums, only a single gospel album was recorded for the label in 1972. After sitting dormant, the label name was revived a couple of years later for a handful of jazz/soul/R&B releases. Creed Taylor would produce the B. C. & M. Choir record, but subsequent Salvation releases were produced by others.
