Manilow's new album GREATEST SONGS OF THE SIXTIES is very entertaining to listen to. To my knowledge, it debuted at No. 2 in the US Charts. Not bad, considering, that the former album GREATEST SONGS OF THE FIFTIES debuted at No.1 in the same year!

My general impression is, that Manilow went back to the original arrangements of these songs, and I like that in most cases.

I bought the UK version of this CD, and it contains two bonus tracks: YESTERDAY and CALIFORNIA DREAMING.

Manilow covers two songs, who have been covered by Carpenters also: THERE'S A KIND OF HUSH and WHEN I FALL IN LOVE. Personally, I still prefer the Carpenters' interpretations of these songs.

Barry did a tv promotour of the UK in December, and you can watch his performances at youtube. Sadly, he does not seem to have the intention to do a promotour of Germany, too.

I just ordered Manilow's new DVD MUSIC AND PASSION, which earned him an EMMY last year.
