Off the top of my head I can think of only 3 Beatles songs that the Carpenters covered. So out of the 3, which one is your favorite? (And this does not concern remixes-re-records.)
"Baby It's You" and "Please Mr. Postman" were also covered by the Beatles.
There's also the bootleg Carpenters version of "Can't Buy Me Love" from the "Your Navy Presents" radio show, and don't forget the song that made it onto From the Top—"Goodnight" (a song from the Beatles White Album), where Karen is accompanied by a choir.
Ticket To Ride is the best of these 3 because of the way that Richard converted the song into a ballad. If you were to include the songs that Kyle mentioned, I would pick "Baby It's You" as their best cover of a song performed by the Beatles.
I find it ironic that with all the Beatles songs the Carpenters covered, they are just about the only musical act of the time who DIDN'T cover "Yesterday".
"Goodnight" by a nautical mile. Amazing vocal. I know it's not a proper Carpenters record but Karen sang the lead and Richard played piano and arranged it so it counts for me.
