Hello, this is my first posting, l live in Australia and for the past few years l've enjoyed reading the messages so finally decided to join and become part of the forum. Last night (Sunday, 7.30pm Aussie time) on TV, Seven network Australia had a program celebrating 50 years of Australia Television "Five Decades of Laughs and Legends", it had the Carpenters on their 1971 Australian tour singing "Close To You", it was in black and white, the film quality was good and Karen sang beautifully and looked wonderful. Why doesn't Richard release this concert on DVD or any of the other concerts that were recorded in other countries. For those of us who never had the chance to see them in concert, this would be great to see.
