Are there any CD recordings of the Carpenters singles? Not remixed or re-recorded.....just the actual singles......

....other than on the Japan Singles box........

The Singles 69-73 has some remixing and recording

What about "Singles 74-78" are those the originals?

And then what about "Singles 69-81" or are those all remixes also?

There weren't tons of dedicated single mixes for Carpenters records, but there were some, and a number of them have surfaced on various compilations, box sets, etc.

Certainly the two Christmas singles had dedicated mixes, with "Merry Christmas Darling" showing up on the FROM THE TOP box set (also ESSENTIAL COLLECTION). "Santa Claus" is only available on the Japan Singles Box.

"Solitaire's" single mix was released on the GOLD (US) compilation, and "Yesterday Once More's" single mix was found on some issues of SINGLES 1969-1973, which housed "Close To You" in its single mix too.

The Canadian SINGLES 1974-1978 is a source for some single mixes too.

Please post information of your copy of The Singles regarding Yesterday Once More. The CD issues I find have the remix with that artificial reverb.

Richard C. could really make use of iTunes with all these various mixes. He could just subtitle them:

Rainy Days and Mondays (Original album mix)
Rainy Days and Mondays (Single mix)
Rainy Days and Mondays ("The Singles 1969-1973" mix)
Rainy Days and Mondays ("From the Top" mix)
Rainy Days and Mondays (Alternate vocal)

etc.
