Recently on eBay someone was selling the following Compact 33 album.
Baja Marimba Band Rides Again [Brasilia/Dear Heart/Red Roses For A Blue Lady/Juarez/More/Guacamole]
LABEL: A&M SP 409 [Compact Stereo 33]
I remember these well as they were loaded in jukeboxes and I think a single 45 cost about 10cents to play (one song) whereas you could select one side of an album and hear 3 songs for 25 cents. The mini-albums were made in a 7 inch size, and the hard card covers were miniture reproductions of the original album jacket. Lots of jukebox companies liked to stock these mini Lps in their boxes because they were in stereo and most singles were mono even in the mid to late 60s when most of the juke boxes were stereo.
I wonder if any of the A&M Corner readers are collectors of these mini LPs (which usually don't show up on artist discographies) and if you have any comments as to how many (and what albums) were issued in this format by A&M.
This would be considered a specialized field of collecting like A&M reissues on Pickwick.
Thanks!
