In my occasional search for new Herb items on iTunes, I turned up the March 13, 2006 episode of "The Bob Edwards Show" (from XM's public radio channel, XMPR). Herb is interviewed in this show for close to 40 minutes! The usual topics are covered, along with more in-depth about Herb's artwork, the Re-Whipped project, and finally Tonni Kalash gets a name mention as the live 2nd trumpet player. Also, Jerry Moss and his Kentucky Derby experience are mentioned, and the Whipped Cream album (the cover, the genesis of the album, and so on). Various song clips are featured as well.

The epsode costs $3.95 to download from iTunes. Once you burn it to CD, the Herb segments are track #2 and 3. Just do a search for Herb Alpert and you'll find it. It's well worth the 4 bucks!

BTW, the show also features David Broder and Paul Zarzyski...I haven't listened to those segments yet.
