I am making a recommendation for all of you who listen to music via your PC. KAAM radio, from Garland Texas, is now on the worldwide web at www.kaamradio.com. I have to say that this station has by far the finest playlist and the nicest radio personalities I've seen in a long time. It is of considerable relevance to us because they play a wealth of songs by A&M artists that you won't hear anywhere else, except maybe Rudy's station. As a sampling of what I regularly hear them play:
Herb Alpert/TJB-"Lonely Bull", "A Taste Of Honey", "Whipped Cream", "Tijuana Taxi", "Spanish Flea", "Zorba The Greek", "What Now My Love", "The Work Song", "Mame", "Casino Royale", "A Banda", "Cabaret", "This Guy's In Love With You", "Rise", and "Route 101".
Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66-"Mas Que Nada", "Fool On The Hill", "The Look Of Love", "Night And Day", "Pretty World", "Never Gonna Let You Go"
Carpenters: "For All We Know", "Sing", "Close To You", "Top Of The World", "We've Only Just Begun", "Please Mr Postman"
Baja Marimba Band-"Comin' In The Back Door"
Wes Montgomery-"Windy"
Chuck Mangione-"Feels So Good"
Sandpipers-"Guantanamera", "Come Saturday Morning"
I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting/ haven't heard yet. There are some periods during the day and early evening when they will play requests. saturday night there's a pre-Beatles rock show with DJs named Crusin' Al and Willie B. Eddie Hubbard, Linda Martin, Tori Logan, And Jaan MCcoy will generally play requested songs if you call during their shows. Tom Goodridge and Crusin' Al will play requests on Sundays. The website has a program list that tells when these shows are on. Other artists you will hear regularly are: Engelbert, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Nat king Cole, Henry Mancini, Al Hirt, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Darin, Olivia Newton John, Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, Eydie Gorme, Petula Clark, Dionne Warwick, virtually all Big Bands etc. Too many big names to remember. Please give these guys a listen and either call or e-mail their web site and let them know what you like. They are a great radio station with great people who really listen and respond to your requests. I now listen to them exclusively.
David,
glad that someone plays OUR kind of music
