I was reading the earlier post regarding the moving of Karen's remains from Forest Lawn in Cypress. Has anyone considered the fact (given the size and acreage of Richard's new dwelling place) that he might have had a crypt built for them on his property? I wouldn't be a bit surprised...

I wouldn't be surprised either :!: I really wish that somehow Karen's grave would be made public so fans could visit her again.

Was anybody from this webiste able to go to her funeral :?:

As bizarre as this sounds, I am a personal friend/acquaintance to the man that not only directed Karen's funeral, but handled her as well. Before I went full time into producing (while in my late teens) I worked for a mortuary and met this gentleman and worked along side him for (3) years off and on (this was a secondary job). At any rate, if any of you have seen the footage of Karen's casket being escorted out of the church, he is the guy at the far end, with glasses and mustache. He has asked that I not disclose his name, but he worked for Utter-McKinley mortuary in Downey when Karen died. He had many details that I found to be very intriguing given the fact that I have always been a major Carpenters fan since age 12 (I am 27 now).

I also worked with a man who was on staff at Rose Hills, not far from Downey who stated that the family was originally going to have Karen's viewing there, but they thought that the chapel was not big enough. Strange...As it was known at the time that Rose Hills WAS bigger, but the family went with what they thought best. I always felt a bit privileged to have been able to hear these things from truly first hand sources. -Chris

I can't say there's not a possibility of Richard having Karen's remains on his property.
However, would he or the rest of his family or relatives or friends or fans be happy to have such things at home?

I mean I don't think he's not so obsessed to have them so close to himself. And I believe he's always thoughtful for ohters including the fans.

If people found out that Karen were there, it's no wonder any of them would want to see or visit the crypt and hang around outside of the site.
Richard and his family would feel restless if that happened.

What about other stars? Elvis? John?

If Richard would like to keep them safe, let that be.
As it reads, "rest in peace".

Well, Elvis, obviously needed his body buried at Graceland--there were too many thefts, or attempted ones at Public Cemetaries, whether in Memphis or in Tupelo, where his still-born twin brother, Jesse was buried. I believe all the "vital" members of The Presley Family have their tombs at Graceland--Jesse, Vernon, Gladys AND Elvis. To think they all STILL need to be "guarded"! As for John Lennon, his following would probably be the kind Elvis had. But he, I thought, was buried in a special monument for him in New York's Central Park, ceremoniously named STRAWBERRY FIELDS. I wouldn't imagine anyone could be as obcessed with Karen, let alone, Harold or Agnes, but there could be, out there. Richard, I'm sure just wanted them to be under "better watch", perhaps. Yes, he built a "private shrine" for Karen in his home, which has me wondering what "items, which were belongings of hers", he could consider valuable. Yes, A "Serious Topic".

...who has been to Graceland, but not Strawberry Fields...

Three things:

First, I can confirm Chris May's statement about the original intended burial site for Karen at Rose Hills. Ironically, I too knew someone who worked at Rose Hills at the time Karen passed. She called me and told me that Harold and Agnes had been in (don't remember if she said Richard was with them) but they didn't have anything "fancy" enough at that time and so they went to Forest Lawn in Cypress.

Second, unless Thousand Oaks has some strange zoning laws, I highly doubt that Karen, Agnes, and Harold would be burried on Richard's personal property. Typically, the placement of human remains within city-limits is prohibited except in a cemetary. Of course, more rural areas, such as within VERY large parcels in a county, it might be different. However, if Richard lives within city-limits, I highly doubt they are on his property.

Third, After thinking about it over the past few days, I think a more logical explanation is that Richard wants his ENTIRE family together. And, if you have been to the plot in Forest Lawn, you would know that where Karen was burried would only hold four caskets. In addition, all the wall-crypts adjacent were nearly full just a couple years ago (or at least, purchased for future need). Perhaps Richard has purchased a LARGE family plot for not only Karen, Agnes, and Harold, but also to include himself, Mary, and (God Forbid) any of his children. Richard's family has grown quite a bit since the passing of Karen.

Still kind of strange they didn't put anything out to the fans. But, if it only happened two weeks ago, maybe they didn't want a zillion fans hanging around while they were exhumed. Who knows. Maybe when Richard feels the time is right, he will let the fans know what happened.
