Pedal Steel Guitarist Sneaky Pete Kleinow, an original member of the Flying Burrito Brothers, died on Jan. 6, 2007 of complications from Alzheimers Disease.
I was fortunate to attend his next-to-last concert performance, held 9-7-05 at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, TN. Pete, his family and band members were most friendly and accessible. His final show was a Gram Parsons tribute in Georgia in October of that year.
Reportedly a memorial service will be held at Joshua Tree National Park in California, the site of Parson's funeral in 1973.
