I came across this article today - it's from a publication in Ireland. I was surprised to read the following:

"while Bass Baritone Derek Ryan will take to the stage with plenty of experience having toured the country playing the part of Richard Carpenter in the Karen Carpenter Story.

Was anyone aware of this?

Here is the link to the article.

I wish someone would produce a show like this in the US.

Wasn't there Christmas show in the U.S.?
I think until several years ago I noticed the article that mentioned it every year, but very brief. I hadn't read the review.

I haven't read Mike's but I have read the article, link in the second post.
I bookmarked it back then.

Yesterday Once More is much more than a tribute show to the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter, this production tells a story about two wonderfully
talented, but at times misunderstood individuals who, despite their personal problems, succeeded in touching the hearts of millions of people world-wide.
Kim Dickinson has succeeded in finding the true voice of Karen Carpenter.

Her interpretation of this unmistakable voice is
spellbinding, leaving you gasping with amazement when she begins to sing. Derek Ryan is a well known actor and singer. His performance is one which captivates the audience with the intensity and sheer brilliance of the silent Carpenter.

Carpenters’ tribute

"Yesterday Once More" is a new tribute show to the Carpenters that's being put together for a theatre tour this spring. Essentially the show will tell the story of Richard and Karen Carpenter through music, words and song. Kim Dickinson and Derek Ryan, two of the countries most talented singers and actors will play the lead roles in portraying the enigmatic duo's highs and lows through a career that spanned twenty years and combined record sales in excess of 100 million units. The musical director of the show is a man by the name of Desi Egan who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Roger Whitaker last year.

The show kicks off on the 17th February in the Roscommon Arts Centre at 8pm and tickets are available at the box office on 090-6625824. Other local dates include the Hawkswell Theatre, Sligo on 7th March and the Cornmill Theatre, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim on 12th March.

There was Kim Dickinson's "YESTERDAY ONCE MORE" CD, the first song was "Yesterday Once More", the rest might be not related with Carpenters.
