I have just returned from my summer vacation. I spent two weeks with a friend on the Greek island Mykonos. All the time we had sunshine and temperatures around 30°Celsius! It was great. There were lots of US citizens, too.
We discovered a little piano bar. There was a piano player (Bobby Peaco) and a singer (Kelly Howe), both from New York, who played there every night ( and I mean night, because of the heat the nightlife starts not before 11.00 p.m.).
As it was possible to make requests, I asked for some Carpenters songs. And they performed CLOSE TO YOU and SUPERSTAR. It was great for me to hear those songs live for the first time! Kelly Howe has a great voice, and the pianist used Richard's arrangement. But still, I missed Karen's voice. It is her voice, that made those songs Carpenters songs.
