First A&M record I purchased: "Steppin' Out", Joe Jackson. 1982 at Harmony House.
First (sorta) A&M record I owned: the Longines Symphonette TJB set, given to me by my grandmother. I used to dance around when I was little every time she played it, so I got to keep it.
About a decade ago, Melodies & Memories used to have maybe three or four of those Longines sets on hand...always $10 (5 records IIRC, $2 each). I actually saw one at an estate sale two weekends ago here in the Shores, but seeing the condition of the other rekkids there, I passed. I think they had it for $20 there.
OK, did I mention Peter Frampton's I'm In You was in a collection of records given to me by a friend a long time ago (and at the time the only thing I enjoyed & kept)?
Frampton Comes Alive, as I'd mentioned was there, too...
But the recent discussion on Joe Jackson brings back owning his Night & Day album, from which a copy of that also came... (And yeh, why did I get rid of it?)
