I interrupt this truly fun exercise to inject a stab at songwriting; I've been known to rework lyrics a time or two. It's a sign of how much enjoyment I attain from writing, or perhaps my having too much time on my hands at the moment. Being in jail can be so boring at times --- just joking. 
In any event, what follows is my conception of a song, utilizing all of the aforementioned phrases from Carpenters' songs in this thread (through #131), with no other words. From my amusement to (hopefully) yours:
A brand new day, it's you and me
There comes a smile; I can feel you come alive
For the first time, the way you kiss
The voice of love that I love to hear
For all the joy you and I understand
We made a hit: eyes of sweet expectation
And I know you; you make me feel alive
You'll take my hand
For the first time, the road is long, walking on the edge
Different in many ways, I should have known
Like falling leaves on the good old earth
I try to cover them again as I can go
The times I've tried, it’s been so wrong
But baby believe me: everyone stays the same
To make me feel is nothing so hard
To say I knew sadness in my head
Just let our hearts be with someone else
We’re bound to work; I guess that we were wrong
But for a moment, Interplanetary Most Extraordinary Craft
I said the word, though I've only known a few
Lost in a world that's all their own
My friends will be people just like us
Holdin' the world in our hands
I don't mean to intrude; no one can tell
Where’s my pen? I’ll put it back
I've lost my appetite right where I am
Only two for tea, a brand new kind
A house is not a home
No one likes to ever wake up lonely
There's no one there; the one you never see
Dooby doo down down
I’d ask you just play it by ear
Love is a promise
And that's what I've been looking for
