We brought the kids to Kansas City to see Taylor Swift, which gave me the opportunity to do some record shopping. On the Carpenters front, I found The Singles 1974-1978 for $6 and Live at the Palladium for $3, both in great condition. Two Carpenters-adjacent purchases were “Sleeping Gypsies” by Michael Frank, and “The Queen Alone” by Carla Thomas, one of the first artists to record “Any Day Now.”

I'll bet the Taylor Swift tickets were the cost of a decent vacation to .Bahamas. Those two albums are a nice find, considering they were not released in the US.
