Just heard the ‘72 album version of “Top Of The World “ on Kings Radio 103.3 from the very tiny town of Lindsay, Ca. Where olive trees outnumber people by 1000’s. It’s a station that is owed by a private trust, and only plays music from the 40’s- about 1973. Vocal artists and popular instruments from those years. I have an antenna on my roof to get the weak signal, as it’s about 70 miles away from where I live. Unusual that it was the album version. It made my day!
Carpenters on Casey Kasem Top 40 at #2 in March 1972 with Hurting Each Other on the Wolf from Guernville, Ca. Every Sat. and Sunday. Get the app!
Don't we all feel a little more okay when we hear Karen?
I hope they played more Carpenters during their Christmas music weekend. Some of Karen's very best performances, no doubt.Local station 105.7, WYXB: "Due to an overwhelming number of responses and spirits being lifted, we are bringing Christmas music back...this weekend. Put on your pjs, light a fire, snuggle up with your loved ones and listen to songs that might help things feel a little more ok."
On my ride home from work they played "(There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays." Don't we all feel a little more okay when we hear Karen?
BBC radio 2 just finishing repeating the 2 hour Carpenters A-Z special.
