Carpenters charts information*

"Happy" is currently at No.5 in the United Arab Emirates (with a population of almost 10 million)

Maybe Universal should a 45 release of the song. Make it an official single (or was it released as a single over there?).

Of all the songs to pop up in the top 5 in the UAE...why this one? I’d love to know how such obscure tracks end up charting so well. Maybe it’s been included in a TV or film of some kind.

Fascinating how some non album tracks become embedded in the public’s psyche. I remember years ago an old girlfriend of mine started singing the first verse of “You” out of the blue. I was absolutely amazed and asked how she even knew the song. She told me her mam sang it to her as a lullaby when she was a kid.

That such an obscure tune-- Caravan, a song recorded 1965-- should land on
any
music chart, in any country, in 2021, is cause for celebration.
I venture to speculate that The Carpenters' entire music catalogue has become more relevant now than ever it was before.

Calling your name again is such an awesome song! A perfect follow up single for Something in Your Eyes.

^^ I, too, like
Calling Your Name Again. The album was released in late 1987, so:
I do have a question, since Richard Marx contributed to the song, why didn't A&M (or Richard Carpenter) capitalize on Marx at the time ?
Marx had a huge hit with Endless Summer Nights in 1988 (his third single from his debut album, the single released in January).
